BCEF has established not one but TWO funds in memory of Bobbie Brandes, BHS Class of 1948. Bobbie, a long-time BCEF donor, worked at BHS for nearly 40 years as the principal’s administrative assistant, where she impacted the lives of many students and faculty.
The Bobbie Brandes Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established at our foundation. Working with the Brandes family to determine scholarship criteria, BCEF added this new scholarship to its common scholarship application and awarded it for the first time in 2022.
In addition, the Brandes family has requested that the BCEF board establish a second unrestricted fund, the Bobbie Brandes Legacy Fund, to benefit BCEF’s programs in Bobbie’s name. Each semester, one BCSC school will be awarded a $500 grant from the Legacy Fund, with students giving input on what the funds will be used for. Just like Bobbie’s involvement with others changed the landscape at BHS throughout the years, these additional dollars will ensure that her influence continues to help students.
