It's not just the students who need our support.

At BCEF, we believe that having a school staff that feels supported leads to a student body that can sense that they are part of a bigger Bulldog community that cares. That’s why we’ve initiated several programs to help our teachers and staff members know that we value them.

“We Care”

The “We Care” staff support program was initiated by BCEF as a way to let the Batesville Community School Corporation staff members know that we value their contribution to public education. We feel strongly that a cared-for school staff is better equipped to meet the needs of our students.

Four times during each school year, members of the BCEF board of directors surprise staff members with a small gift to show our appreciation.

2023-24 staff gifts:

BCEF dropped in at all four school buildings, the administration building, and the bus barn on the first day of school to bring a treat. This is part of our “We Care” staff support program, made possible in part this year by our Gold Level Sponsors: Fanning Howey, Linkel Company LLC, and Wood-Mizer. Several times a year, board members and staff of BCEF surprise all 300+ staff and bus drivers with a small gift.

Our second gift for 2023-24:  a pack of gum for every staff member, since “BCEF couldn’t ‘CHEWS’ a better staff!”

“Show Them Some Love”
Free Classroom Supplies Shopping Spree for Teachers

2024 results:  Enough raised for 24 of our teachers, counselors, and administrators to get free classroom supplies. Thanks so much for your support!

Each February, BCEF conducts an online fundraiser aptly named “Show Them Some Love” to raise funds to pay for the registration fees for a number of our BCSC teachers to participate in the Indianapolis Donut Dash 5K, an event sponsored by the Teachers’ Treasures free store. Dollars raised from this fundraiser are used to pay for as many registration slots as we can for our teachers, who then have the opportunity to claim a participation slot on a first-come, first-served basis. Every BCSC teacher who claims a slot receives a voucher for a free classroom supplies shopping spree at the Teachers’ Treasures store!  In 2023, 19 BCSC teachers took advantage of this free benefit, bringing back to their classrooms a collective $17,472.50 worth of supplies. That’s a 2200% return on investment from the money BCEF donated to Teachers’ Treasures for their registrations!

Those participating in 2024 will have the opportunity to shop twice! We can’t wait to see what they bring back.
