It's not just the students who need our support.

At BCEF, we believe that having a school staff that feels supported leads to a student body that can sense that they are part of a bigger Bulldog community that cares. That’s why we’ve initiated several programs to help our teachers and staff members know that we value them.

“Show Them Some Love”
Free Classroom Supplies Shopping Spree for Teachers

Each February, BCEF conducts an online fundraiser aptly named “Show Them Some Love” to raise funds to pay for the registration fees for a number of our BCSC teachers to participate in the Indianapolis Donut Dash 5K, an event sponsored by the Teachers’ Treasures free store. Dollars raised from this fundraiser are used to pay for as many registration slots as we can for our teachers, who then have the opportunity to claim a participation slot on a first-come, first-served basis. Every BCSC teacher who claims a slot receives a voucher for a free classroom supplies shopping spree at the Teachers’ Treasures store!  Teachers have one hour to claim as many supplies as they can.  In 2025,  BCSC teachers brought back to their classrooms more than $8,000 worth of free supplies. That’s 1100% of what we donated. One teacher alone brought back 245 items valued at $2,044. Please help us “show them some love” by participating in this online event each year.

Continuing Education Scholarships

As part of BCEF’s programming, Batesville Community School Corporation staff may apply for scholarships to continue their education (bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or Transition to Teaching), thanks to our membership in the Indiana Association of Public Education Foundations (INAPEF). Only staff at schools with INAPEF member-affiliated foundations (like BCEF) may take advantage of this collaboration with the American College of Education (ACE), which offers these opportunities.  Lead BCSC school resource office Austin Gross was selected as one of four state-wide full-tuition ACE scholarships in 2026, made possible by BCEF.

“We Care”

The “We Care” staff support program was initiated by BCEF as a way to let the Batesville Community School Corporation staff members know that we value their contribution to public education. Several times during each school year, members of the BCEF board of directors surprise staff members with a small gift to show our appreciation.

2025-26 staff gifts:

In October, BCEF showed up at BCSC with water bottles and single-serve drink drop-ins that read “You are an important INGREDIENT to student success.”

January brought scented car air fresheners for our “Scent-sational” staff, put together by BMS 6th graders during their nonprofit Inspire and Impact Day as part of Bulldog Ready.
