Our 2019 spring grants have been awarded, with total funds awarded equalling $5,000. Arts, athletics, and academics— plus all four schools involved…there’s something for everyone!
- $1,300 to Mike Weiler and the Batesville Bulldog Archery Club to purchase four bow cases to transport bows to competitions. This successful new club currently has 74 members in grades 6 through 12.
- $925 to BMS music teacher Alec Branstetter for guitar strings, stands, wall hangers, and amplifiers to protect equipment and enhance the learning environment for the sixth grade.
- $1,000 to Cindy Weisenbach, third grade teacher at BIS, for a community project to study the life cycle of the butterfly and create garden stakes to beautify our community. BCEF is working in cooperation with the City of Batesville and the VISION fund to sponsor this grant.
- $1,775 to BIS media specialist Anne Amrhein toward a project called “Trio of Talent,” which plans to bring one author and two other author/illustrators to BPS and BIS at the same time, impacting approximately 976 students. This grant is another collaborative effort, with other funding coming from the Batesville Area Arts Council (Arts in Education program and Arts in Education Evening Series program) and the VISION Fund.
