Art on Main is BCEF’s collaborative venture to showcase BCSC student artwork for all of Batesville to enjoy. The program began in 2020 and is the brainchild of two BHS alumni and BCEF sponsors. It provides artists at our four school buildings a backdrop on which to display their creations. BCEF is the sponsor of the series, providing the funding for the mural materials, while BHS alumnus Jimmy Rowland donates his installation time and fellow alum Nick Maple donates the use of the side of his building. BCEF board member Ryan Holcomb is the project coordinator with assistance from Jama Linkel-Cleghorn.

Batesville Intermediate School
Fifth grader Nicole Garza drew this to depict how she was out in the thunderstorm of being friendless and feeling like she didn’t fit in until another classmate offered to be her friend, sheltering her under the umbrella of “Happiness.”
Batesville Middle School
Sixth grader Dustin Wessel used colored pencil to show all of the emotions that exist inside our heads, from happiness (sun) to sadness (rain).
Batesville High School
In this mural by freshman Ella Meer, the raging storm of emotions around the person represents the chaos of life, but the individual has found peace and continued on through the storm.
